Negreanu, Hellmuth in fantasy NFL competition

Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth are just two of the big poker names taking part in a fantasy football league during the 2008-09 NFL season.

Negreanu revealed to Full Contact Poker readers the he and Hellmuth are in a ten-team division together, along with fellow card sharp Gavin Smith.

PotOdds3 is another member who will likely be familiar to followers of internet card playing.

Hellmuth apparently picked a very old team, while Negreanu went for several rookies.

The main exception for Kid Poker was legendary quarterback Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts, who ended up in the Canadian's side even though he did not initially want him.

An auction was held to determine the team members because Negreanu considers traditional drafts to be dull.

Should the players' fantasy football skills be similar to their poker abilities, it seems likely that Hellmuth would come out on top.

The Poker Brat is the most decorated competitor in the sport with 11 World Series of Poker bracelets.
