GTech Signs Chilean Lottery

American gaming technology firm GTech has announced a deal with Chile’s Polla Chilena De Beneficencia that will see it provide a full range of solutions and services including a new online and instant ticket lottery system. The seven-year contract will begin next September and follows a competitive procurement. It will see Providence-based GTech also supply fixed-odds sportsbetting event and risk management services, an interactive platform, approximately 2,200 Altura terminals alongside and a communications network. Polla Chilena administers and operates the national online lottery alongside instant games and fixed-odds sportsbetting in Chile. The contract also contains an option that could see it extended by a further two years. “Polla Chilena is one of Latin America’s leading lotteries with their full complement of products including online games, instants, fixed-odds sports betting and interactive product offerings,” said Jaymin Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer for GTech. “Lotteries today seek both innovation and technological leadership when it comes to providing central systems and terminals. We are pleased to, once again, be afforded the opportunity to partner with Polla Chilena and provide them with a comprehensive set of solutions to deliver the maximum player experience and the highest levels of integrity, security and profitability.” Under the terms of the agreement, GTech will install its Enterprise Series central system alongside its NewMedia and Finsoft’s MarginMaker sportsbetting solutions. Polla Chilena will also benefit from GTech’s online, in-lane solution giving retailers the ability to process lottery transactions through non-lottery dedicated point-of-sale devices.
