Czech’s Launching Online Casino

The Czech Republic’s oldest and biggest lottery operator, Sazka, has announced plans to launch a new play-for-fun online casino ahead of proposed law changes it hopes will legalise Internet gaming. New legislation in the Eastern European nation could come up for a vote in Parliament before the end of the year and Sazka has been promoting its new free online offering in order to benefit from increased brand recognition and market position the Czech Republic before an expected influx of foreign competition. Sazka launched E-Sazka.cz earlier this year, which allows punters to prepare bets online before placing them at a physical retail point of sale using a bet identifier or barcode. The operator revealed that its new online casino would feature roulette, blackjack, Texas hold’em and other poker games on a free-play basis but that it would also deploy technology allowing play-for-money operations as soon as the new legislation was passed.
