WSOP Europe crown heads back to the US

As the WSOP Europe tournament drew to a close in Leicester Square few would have guessed that it would take a record 484 hands to crown the champion of this year’s event. Step forward John Juanda to claim the crown for the US (for the first time ever) and bag himself a $1,598,587 jackpot in the process. However, a quick look at the stats for the final will show you that John Juanda certainly worked for his money! As we mentioned above the final took an amazing 484 hands but it also took 19 hours and 10 minutes to complete. This is officially the longest final ever in the history of the World Series of Poker and to be honest it will take some beating! So what do you know about John Juanda? Those who have never heard of the man will be surprised to learn that John Juanda now has 45 cash drops in the WSOP event and this latest final was his 23rd final table place. Born in Indonesia he now lives in the USA where he studied for an MBA in his earlier years. While this is John Juanda’s largest jackpot to date he has a number of $100,000 plus wins under is belt so can certainly handle the pressure!
