Thursday 12th February 2004 Gaming-Group.com forms new division
UK-based Gaming & Entertainment Limited, developer of central-server gaming systems and downloadable games, today announced the formation of BetBetBet247 Limited. The wholly owned subsidiary of Gaming & Entertainment Group disclosed that BetBetBet247 is a joint venture between Gaming & Entertainment Group (the majority shareholder) and Cheshire Racing, an independent bookie. Joe Phillips, of Cheshire Racing, who will heading the new venture as the Managing Director said, ‘BetBetBet247 plans to market, sell, install, support and service new gaming and wagering devices, as well as wagering and gaming systems for the UK and Ireland markets under a common BetBetBet247 brand and logo.’
The company said the focus of BetBetBet247 will be to enable independent bookmakers to compete effectively and dynamically, without the need for them to individually develop high-tech gaming and betting applications. In the first phase of product launches BetBetBet247 will ship new Fixed Odds Betting Terminals, a networked fixed-odds virtual horse-racing and greyhound-racing game, and an integrated online sports-book and casino.
Joe Phillips estimates that there are currently 3,500 permit holders controlling 8,800 licensed betting offices throughout the UK, excluding Ireland, of which 3,200 are independently owned, and many have struggled to keep up in the technology race that has overtaken the bookmaking industry. According to Phillips addressing this segment represents a huge market opportunity for the new BetBetBet247.
