Tran To Make European Debut At PartyPoker.com Event

The Asian Poker Tour has announced that professional player JC Tran will travel to Europe for the first time next month to take part in the PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker III tournament. Born in Vietnam in 1977 but now living in Sacramento, California, Tran is currently the world’s top-ranked player in the Bluff Magazine/ESPN power rankings. After beginning in local card rooms, he has gone on to accumulate over $6.7 million in tournament winnings. His most notable recent victory was at Event 49 of the 39th annual World Series of Poker 2008 where he took home a bracelet and $631,170. Tran recently signed a deal alongside friends Nam Le and Quinn Do to become an ambassador for the Asian Poker Tour and stated that he is excited to be taking part in the PartyPoker.com Premier League Poker III tournament, which will take place from November 24 to 30. 'I'm really looking forward to the PartyPoker.com Premier League and it is an honour to be chosen as one of the twelve,” said Tran. “I've seen coverage from previous events and I'm ready for all the verbal volleys that are likely to be thrown at me. I have been meaning to play in Europe for a while and this prestigious event is a great way to start.” The PartyPoker.com Premier League was developed by Matchroom Sport and features twelve of the world's best players competing in a unique league format. The third series will see the buy-in elevated to $75,000 while the added money has been raised to $350,000 for a total prize pool of $1.25 million. All twelve participants will take part in the preliminary stages while the top four players will then progress to the final table leaving the next four to battle it out heads-up for the final two seats.
