Former L.A. King of cards is facing tough times

Back in the 1990s there was only one name on the lips of the L.A. poker playing community, that of Georgie Hardie, the many who ran the well known Bicycle Club. He was the king of Poker and had all of the stars at the time in attendance at his clubs – they were the places to be seen!

However, 15 years later and a failed casino venture in Belize has brought this once proud man to his knees as he looks to resurrect his business career while also looking to assist his son in getting out of a Mexican jail where he is being held on allegations of attempted murder.

While the details of the attempted murder claim are bare to say the least, this is all that Georgie Hardie needs after he was affectively run out of L.A. by the FBI in the 1990s as a number of raids brought about some serious allegations. A number of his assets were seized and while he was legally able to remain in the business, the tight restrictions he encountered forced him to up sticks and move away from his beloved city.

As they say in poker, every player has a sad sad song to sing.....
