Hellmuth overawed by sight of swimming sensation Michael Phelps

There can be few people in the world who catch the attention of Phil ‘Poker Brat’ Hellmuth but it seems that he has taken something of a shine to his new friend and fellow poker player Michael Phelps. It has been reported in the US press that Michael Phelps was ‘chased down’ by the ‘Poker Brat’ as he was touring the LA poker tables, but whether this was exactly as it happened remains to be seen.

However, after a jaunt along to the Tryst nightclub and a few beverages to help the evening go by it appears that they parted company at 3am after agreeing to meet up the next day. It is then that the ‘Poker Brat’ is said to have escorted Phelps to one of the larger tournaments which was happening at the weekend. Some of the best known and toughest poker players in the world also seemed to be in awe of the human fish as the place literally stopped as he was mobbed by stars and players alike.

One thing is for sure, when Michael Phelps finally hangs up his swimming goggles it looks as though he has a great future in the poker industry.
