William Hill Defies Online Casino ‘Recession’

Poker legend Doyle ‘Texas Dolly’ Brunson once said that the state of the economy reflected how people gambled – that is to say that the better the global market; the bigger people bet. Many Las Vegas casinos have complained of a revenue fall in the past few months of economic turmoil, but UK online bookmaker, casino and poker room William Hill (whose poker site recently joined the iPoker network) has reported a 9% increase in profits in their last quarter. William Hill has responded to its positive Internet growth by planning to expand online operations. The company will engage in online poker and other online casino games in a partnership with software provider Playtech.
