Hungarian casino offers automated poker

Visitors to the Monte Carlo Budapest can now test out their card skills at one of seven PokerPro tables added to the casino this week.

Installed by US gaming company PokerTek, the automated tables are designed to make poker quicker and easier for both novice players and seasoned tournament participants.

With tables already installed in Spain and Bulgaria, PokerTek has entered another key European market by adding its services to the Hungarian capital.

Attila Torok, director of the Monte Carlo Budapest, commented: "We are extremely excited to be the first venue to be able to offer PokerPro in Hungary."

He described the PokerPro table as an "exceptional product" and "unique concept" in the eastern European country.

Last week, the European Poker Tour held an event in Budapest for the first time, with Nottingham player Will Fry pocketing the €595,839 (£472,084) first prize after beating Romanian Ciprian Hrisca in heads-up play.
