Ladbrokes Online Winner Treats Mother

Poker.Ladbrokes.com has announced that the recent winner of its Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker (LEOCOP), James Sudworth, has used a portion of his winnings to help put his mother through university. The 22-year-old from the small village of Molash near Canterbury plays under the name ‘James666’ and won $37,561 last week after topping the LEOCOP leaderboard. He is now entered into the Ladbrokes Poker Million televised tournament and could walk away with just over $1.5 million if he makes it through the semi-finals taking place December 10 to 12 and set to be aired on Sky Sports 2. Sudworth revealed that he turned professional two years ago and has already taken home over $300,683 in cash and prizes including a Caribbean poker cruise with Ladbrokes alongside trips to Madrid and Kilarney to compete. He is also off to Las Vegas later this month to watch the Ricky Hatton fight courtesy of Ladbrokes and took home $15,030 last Sunday with three of a kind sixes. He stated that he has used some of his winnings to help his mother study towards a degree in speech therapy at a nearby university. 'I was studying media studies at A-level and then got a job as a bar manager but was introduced to poker one night in my local,” said Sudworth. “It's such fun playing I never looked back. My parents weren't initially pleased with my career choice but seeing how dedicated I am and how much I won from a recent trip in Vegas they've come around slightly.' Sudworth stated that he had also invested some of his winnings into a short film directed by friend Neil Neenan from Canterbury that is due to be aired on Channel Four in the future.
