Wednesday 26th November 2008 WSOP Winner Signs With Poker Royalty
Las Vegas-based poker management agency Poker Royalty has announced that it has been selected to represent Peter Eastgate, the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) champion.
Poker Royalty will control worldwide management and marketing representation across all major platforms including media, sponsorship, licensing, commercial endorsements and appearances for the 22-year-old professional player.
Hailing from Odense, Denmark, Eastgate won the WSOP and its nine million dollar first-prize earlier this month to become the youngest champion in the history of the event, a record previously held by fellow Poker Royalty client Phil Hellmuth. The win also moved Eastgate into eleventh place on poker’s all-time money list.
'Peter is the epitome of the young, intelligent and fearless online poker professional whose game has translated fantastically to the world of live tournament poker,' said Jim Erwood, Director of European Operations for Poker Royalty, who will lead Eastgate’s management team from Poker Royalty’s London office.
'It is a very unique opportunity for us because he’s a very marketable 22-year-old international player with nine million dollars in the bank. Peter can afford to be very selective with the endorsement relationships he chooses and align himself with opportunities that suit him perfectly.'
