Chinese Poker Television Series Airing

Los Angeles-based World Poker Tour (WPT) Enterprises Incorporated has announced that its new Beijing arm has begun broadcasting the China National Traktor Poker Tour on national television. The American firm created its Chinese subsidiary 16 months ago to help market the popular Traktor variation and stated that this marked the first time a Government sanctioned poker competition had aired nationally in China. Last month, the first of nine programming hours from the WPT Traktor Poker Tour Season One Grand Finals aired on Nanjing Entertainment Television in the Jiangsu Province, one of the largest and wealthiest in China, and it will now be broadcast across other regions. The China Leisure Sports Administrative Center (CLSAC) selected WPT as its exclusive commercial marketing partner in July of 2007 to help build the first national China National Traktor Poker Tour. Together, WPT and the CLSAC have focused on growing and marketing the sport and created a cross-platform business centered on the WPT China National Traktor Poker Tour. WPT stated that its Chinese business had also recently launched Internet and mobile platforms featuring games that are marketed in-show, prompting viewers to play for a chance to win a seat to the Season Two Grand Finals. In addition, it has agreed a deal with BNM Media that will see the player card company become the first consumer product sponsor for the second season of the China National Traktor Poker Tour.
