Why do the celebs seem so attracted to the poker tables?

Those who follow poker will be well aware that over the last few years the number of celebrities who have appeared on the poker tables around the world has been on the increase. From the likes of Pamela Anderson to Robert De Niro and everybody else in between, they all seem to have taken a liking to poker and their names are used more and more to advertise the sport. But why are celebrities attracted to poker?<br /> <br /> Poker has very much become a fashionable sport and one which has demanded more and more airtime as the months and years go by. It is also one of the most profitable online sectors in the world with competition intense and poker sites looking for bigger and better known celebrities to advertise their services. Make no mistake about it, there is big money in poker for celebrities who are prepared to back any one individual brand.<br /> <br /> There has even been a move towards the introduction of celebrity poker sites and clubs which seems to be something which can draw in substantial crowds. Many poker sites have quickly realised the benefit of using a celebrity figurehead to attract the crowds and in many cases this is money well spent.
