PPA Names Donofrio

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) has announced the appointment of Dianna Donofrio as its Nevada State Director and stated that she will be responsible for recruitment in the western state along with serving as a local spokesperson. The Washington, DC-based poker advocacy group revealed that Donofrio was chosen from over 1,000 applicants and said that she will be its ‘eyes and ears in Nevada’, alerting it to local news stories or legislation as well as mobilising fellow members to attend poker-related events or rallies. “The PPA is fortunate to have over one million dedicated members and even more fortunate that Dianna is one of them,” said Alfonse D’Amato, Chairman for the PPA. “As Nevada’s PPA State Director, Dianna will help strengthen the PPA’s efforts both nationally and at the state level. We are proud to have her as part of the PPA team.” The PPA stated that Donofrio has over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry and began her career at the Bicycle Club in Los Angeles as Special Projects Manager for what would become the Legends of Poker event. She then moved on to work as Satellite Tournament Director for the nearby Commerce Casino before relocating to Las Vegas to fill the same role at the Four Queens Resort and Casino. Donofrio eventually worked her way up through the ranks to become Satellite Director for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) while it was still held at Binion’s Horseshoe. She then moved to the Rio in 2005 to manage satellites before becoming Payout Manager a year later. She left the WSOP last year and has since been organising and directing charity tournaments including Motel Williams’ Multiple Sclerosis Poker Gala in New York City and Jennifer Harman’s SPCA benefit.
