Alan Vinson - he came he saw he conquered

Retired UK resident Alan Vinson is today looking forward to the World Series of Poker finals in Las Vegas in 2009 after scooping the Great British Poker Championship and a jackpot of some £83000. Vinson is no new start on the poker circuit having been playing the game for in excess of 50 years (since age of nine) but this is by far and away his best victory to date. The final of the poker tour saw 177 players from across Europe battling it out for the impressive jackpot and a share of the £265,500 prize pool on offer.<br /> <br /> Vinson appears to be in a state of shock after being so close on so many different occasions in the past before finally folding in an array of finals. However, this time people were folding as he was bluffing and pushing as he had great hands which he certainly made the most of. The Great British Poker Championship has been a great success and despite only being a couple of years old it looks as though it will be around for many years to come.<br /> <br /> As well as the impressive jackpot on offer, a seat at the final of the World Series of Poker Championships in 2009 is something Alan Vinson will look forward to for many months to come.
