Can you make it big in poker in 2009?

As we step into 2009 the competition for the largest prizes in the poker industry is set to grow and grow with more new players joining every day. However, we will see some names appear from nowhere to play a big part in some of the larger competitions this year but who will it be and what will make them so special?<br /> <br /> There are many characteristics you need to make it big in poker with nerve, a mathematical mind, an excellent poker face and guts very much to the fore. A full understanding of poker and the stronger hands available goes without saying when in the pursuit of the multi-million-dollar jackpots. While there are many good poker players entering the sport this year one problem which has been evident over the last few years is a lack of experience and very few "hours at the table". It is paramount that you get the experience of playing online and off-line for long periods of time which should allow you to focus your concentration throughout the whole of an event.<br /> <br /> Losing patience and focus are two of the main problems which many poker players have with games often lasting hours and many of the large competitions requiring you to concentrate for days. Focus and an ability to read the game are the difference between a good player and a great player…….. as well as a good slice of luck!
