Everest Debuts Sportsbetting Service

Hong Kong-based GigaMedia Limited, the firm behind online poker site EverestPoker.com, has agreed a new strategic partnership with leading sportsbetting firm Victor Chandler International Group. GigaMedia revealed that the deal would significantly expand and strengthen its Everest gaming platform as it will now be able to offer sportsbetting through a new site at EverestBets.com. It stated that EverestBets.com would deliver a broader and richer gaming and entertainment experience supported by two of the world's most popular and trusted gaming brands, Victor Chandler and Everest. 'Victor Chandler is a sportsbetting legend with an enormous, thriving business and an unsurpassed reputation for honour and integrity,' said Bob Cahill, Chief Executive Officer for GigaMedia's gaming software division. 'We hit the ground running with a world-class offering addressing a multi-billion dollar market. We are absolutely thrilled and look forward to additional exciting opportunities with Victor Chandler going forward.' GigaMedia explained that a recent company survey revealed that a significant number of its players already engaged in sportsbetting. It said that EverestBets.com would, therefore, complement Everest's current poker and casino verticals and see substantial cross-marketing benefits and enhanced leverage resulting from strategic partnerships. 'We are delighted to be working with GigaMedia,” said Michael Carlton, Chief Executive Officer for Victor Chandler. “We are confident we can deliver a product to excite their current poker and games customers. The sportsbetting product will offer all popular sports in many European languages and complement Everest's superb poker and casino offerings.'
