Online Casino Lowers Buy-In

Leading online casino UltimateBet today has announced that the buy-in for its Ultimate Bet Online Championship (UBOC) event scheduled for this Sunday has been lowered to $500 in order to make it more accessible. The the replacement six-handed Championship No-Limit Hold'Em event is part of the Kahnawake-licensed site’s UBOC and was originally set to have a buy-in of $5,200 with a guaranteed jackpot of one million dollars. However, it will now feature assured prizes totalling $300,000 with UltimateBet.com stating that no changes are planned for its final $1,050 buy-in UBOC Main Event on February 18 with the guaranteed prize pot remaining at one million dollars. 'We've listened to our players, modified our UBOC tournament schedule and repositioned one of our championship tournaments within reach of more online poker players,' said Annie Duke, progessional poker player and Cardroom Consultant for UltimateBet.com. 'With a one million dollar Championship event and a $300,000 Championship event, our new UBOC schedule promises to thrill more players looking to be a part of the most exciting online championship series in poker.' The latest instalment of the UBOC gets underway tomorrow and is UltimateBet.com's biggest online tournament series to date. It will feature 22 guaranteed events over ten days including no-limit Texas hold'em, HORSE and Pot-Limit Omaha with a combined prize pool of $2.5 million. In keeping with the online poker site's commitment to letting more poker players in on the excitement, it has also introduced the Mini UBOC, which is a series of smaller events running parallel to the larger online Championship. With the exception of the two big events, each UBOC game will be mirrored by a separate Mini UBOC series where players can purchase a seat for approximately ten percent of the corresponding UBOC buy-in and compete for a lucrative prize pool.
