Gordon Brown picks up yet another poker hand!

Gordon Brown is either the best poker player in the UK or the worst in the world with news of a further £20 billion gamble in the offing. He has already invested hundreds of billions of pounds into the UK economy but like any good poker player he seems to have some strength in depth and the ability to bluff and bluff again. But will his latest gamble be the turning point in what could turn out to be a long-running game of poker between Gordon Brown, the UK voters and the UK economy?<br /> <br /> Despite the introduction of billions of pounds into the UK economy over the last few months, with little or no impact as yet, Gordon Brown has never once been negative in the press or in his daily press conferences. Like any good gambler he has been talking up his hand and he believes that investment in the earlier rounds will come to fruition very soon. But what will he do if the cards are stacked against him in six months time?<br /> <br /> While Gordon Brown is not known to be a poker player or a gamble in general he will need to be at his very best to succeed with his ongoing rescue packages in the UK. Many in the country are looking to him for confidence and support at this difficult time and while so far he has done this with aplomb, how long can he hold his poker face?
