When small hands can mean big bucks!

As more and more new players come into the poker industry many of the so-called old professionals are spotting easy meat and easy wins against players who are often too keen to get involved in the big hands. Many people make the mistake of thinking that the big hands are where the big money is when in fact you can make substantial returns from a number of smaller hands where the risk to you is reduced significantly but you can still pick up some decent pots.

The more your pot builds up the higher you can bet the next time and if you go in heavy on your good hands and lay back on your bad hands it is possible to slowly but surely claw your way up the table. Poker tournaments, whether online or offline, are not won by one hand alone and it is vital that you have sufficient ammunition available at the business end of the game.

Many professionals and experienced poker players prefer to give the first few rounds a miss and instead monitor their opponents, check their weak points and check their strong point. This can prove invaluable in the later stages of a poker tournament and if the information is used correctly you can give yourself a more than even chance of reading your opponent's hands.
