Will mobile poker ever work?

We have gone from the casino rooms in Las Vegas to the Internet and now many experts are trying to push us towards mobile poker. But mobile poker does have its drawbacks, it does have its critics but above all there are a number of issues still to be resolved. We've seen a number of false dawns whereby mobile poker has been pushed as the finished article when clearly there is still much work to be done. Security on your mobile phone has been and continues to be a major issue as you will probably be passing over highly sensitive financial data. Credit card numbers, bank account numbers and other such data can easily be picked up using a variety of trackers in the region of your mobile phone. While encryption is now the norm across industry it will take time for confidence to grow enough in the security aspect as well as the reliability of your Internet link. The mobile Internet industry has come on in leaps and bounds over the last few years but many believe that connections are not yet perfect. How annoying would it be to be on the verge of a large pot when your connection drops and by the time you get back on you are out of the game? Do not discount or ignore mobile poker as it will one day be a major player in the industry but maybe the time is not quite yet.
