Aussie Millions $10,500 Main Event Gets Underway

The Aussie Millions, hosted at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, has had a variety of events won already including an Omaha Hi/Lo event, a H.O.R.S.E. (Hold ‘em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Stud and Stud Eight) event and even a No-Limit Hold ‘em event played out on electronic PokerPro tables. However, now the big daddy of Aussie Millions events has reared its head as legions of poker players and wannabes descend on the casino, anteing up $10k for the event. Of the 192 that entered on Day 1a, only 76 remain. Hoping that 2009 will continue the “Year of the Pro” trend is Patrik Antonius, who is second-place in chips with $139,750. Also in the running is Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi who has a nice stack of just under $100k and $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. champion Jarred Solomon, back at the tables after his recent $30k victory.
