The Poker Pack Makes Aussie Millions Debut

Six of the world’s top poker players, collectively known as The Poker Pack, are battling it out at Melbourne’s Crown Casino this week alongside 2,000 others in the Aussie Millions Poker Championship. The Poker Pack is a team of specially selected players of Asian origin that serve as ambassadors for the Asian Poker Tour. Consisting of Steve Sung, Quinn Do, Nam Le, JC Tran, David ‘Chino’ Rheem and Kwang Soo Lee, the team has already made huge waves on the world poker circuit both as individuals and as an effective team. AsianLogic Limited, a leading online and land-based gaming company focused on the Asia-Pacific markets, recently acquired the Asian Poker Tour and stated that The Poker Pack would be pitting their wits against a world-class field in an event now widely regarded as one of the best outside of the United States. “We’re absolutely delighted to have The Poker Pack represent us at the prestigious Aussie Millions,” said Tom Hall, Chief Executive Officer of AsianLogic. “They are very much looking forward to playing in Melbourne.” The Aussie Millions started Sunday and is a 23-day competition featuring 18 different championship events covering nearly every variation of poker. More than 2,000 players are expected to take part in total while in excess of 800 will compete for the guaranteed first prize of two million Australian dollars in the $10,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. “The Aussie Millions has become a major stop on the international poker circuit and continues to grow every year,” said David Courtney, Chief Executive Officer for Crown Casino. “We’re thrilled to welcome The Poker Pack to Melbourne, who will be joining some of the world’s best poker players in the Crown poker room in the hunt for the two million Australian dollars first-place prize. The action will be bigger and better this year and, with the help of our broadcast partner Fox Sports Net, will be broadcast into over 100 million homes worldwide.”
