Nearly $250,000 Won In UltimateBet’s $1m Tournament

UltimateBet are attempting to stake their claim back on the online poker market with a series of bigger and better tournaments than ever before. Their most recent was a prize pool with a staggering $1,000,000 guaranteed. In the event, over 1,100 players registered which meant the overall prizepool was $1,115,000 with a first-place prize of $245,188.50. “Over the course of the last 10 days, UltimateBet paid out more than $2.5 million to online poker players in 22 unbelievable events,” stated Phil Hellmuth, who hosted the championship event on Sunday evening. “This series was the epitome of epic for poker fans from all over the globe and our spectacular final championship event will be the talk of the online tables for months to come.” Hellmuth was knocked out of the event by MIDDLEMISS08, who received a $1,050 bounty (in other words, a full refund on tournament entry) for eliminating the 11-time WSOP bracelet-winner.
