Probability Going Head-To-Head With Zaphod

London-based Probability has launched its new Zaphod gaming platform allowing players to compete head-to-head over their mobile devices for the first time. The mobile telephone gaming specialist revealed that the new platform would allow it to generate revenues through charging players a small fee, known as ‘rake’, rather than serving as the house as it has done in more traditional casino games such as slots, blackjack and bingo. The first game to be launched on the new platform is a head-to-head mobile Texas hold‘em poker title, which has already received approval from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. The listed firm revealed that the game would be promoted to its database of over 400,000 mobile gamblers and feature in advertising promotions that have already been agreed with at least two of its network partners. Probability stated that the rake for the new poker game would be in line with those found in the online arena, typically around five to ten percent of the amount staked by each player in a game, while the minimum stake would be one pound per player. The new platform also offers the potential for additional head-to-head games including versions of Connect4 and Battleships, which are planned for later this calendar year. “Today’s launches of our new gaming platform and head-to-head poker are the culmination of nine months intensive research and development and exhaustive testing within Probability,” said Charles Cohen, Chief Executive Officer for Probability. “We see the development of this new platform as a strategic investment in the future capability of our business, which could significantly enhance earnings potential in the medium-term. Not only is this a unique service in the gaming industry but, by aligning it to the brands such as Connect4, it is also has potential mass appeal.”
