PokerStars.com Welcoming Fleet Street Players

Players at failed online poker room FleetStreetGames.com will now have their balances ensured by PokerStars.com following a deal between the two agreed this week. FleetStreetGames.com launched last February and offered subscribers from all over the world the chance to enter numerous poker tournaments every month for one fixed monthly fee. However, the current economic downturn left the site unable to secure a needed second round of funding and it closed its virtual doors within a few months of its real-money launch. PokerStars.com is one of the world's largest online poker rooms with over 19 million players across the globe and stated that the deal would mean that no customers would be out of pocket as a result of FleetStreetGames.com going under. It is also set to host a series of freeroll tournaments for former players at FleetStreetGames.com in order to welcome them to its community. “Many FleetStreetGames.com players will, I am sure, already be familiar with PokerStars.com,” said Dan Goldman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Fleet Street Games LLC. “It is, as I know from long personal experience, the best all-round online poker site in the world and, although we are obviously extremely disappointed that we couldn’t make a go of FleetStreetGames.com in the present economic climate, we are thrilled that we have been able to secure such a great new home for our players.”
