Gold Signs With Aced.com

The main event champion of the 2006 World Series Of Poker, Jamie Gold, has signed a lucrative multi-year contract with new poker brand Aced.com, which operates on the Merge Gaming Network. Aced.com launched in September and numerous sources have reported that the sponsorship deal could be worth at least eight figures with Gold allegedly turning down several other endorsement offers. 'We have been careful and patient in waiting for the right deal,' said Sean Fredericks, Gold’s agent. Although the exact value of the deal was not revealed, Aced.com confirmed that it would be funding Gold's participation in major US, European and Asian events. 'I am not at liberty to disclose details of the arrangement,' said Les Abell, Gold's attorney. 'However, I can say that this contract is valued at more than any deal I have ever heard of.' “We are extremely excited to have Jamie on board, not only because of his obvious value as an ambassador for us within the poker world but for the unparalleled enthusiasm, insight and creativity he brings to the ongoing development of our brand,” said Brandon Berndt, Poker Room manager for Aced.com. “He could have chosen so many other sites but we share his values and vision. He is worth every penny, or billion pennies.' Gold revealed that one reason he chose Aced.com was down to its charity work. Since 2006, he has co-hosted, emceed and attended nearly 50 events and helped to raise more than $110 million for good causes. 'I'm really proud of the example we, as a poker community, are setting,” said Gold. 'But it's only the tip of the iceberg. Aced.com and I plan to leave our mark, not just on poker, but on the world, making it a better place for future generations.'
