Stakes Rise For GameAccount

Leading skill gaming provider GameAccount has announced that the amount staked for the final quarter of 2008 rose by 75 percent to reach over £100 million. GameAccount was launched in 2002 and is a skill gaming partner to many of the industry’s leading bookmakers including William Hill and Gala Coral. The head-to-head skill-based gaming provider for regulated sportsbook, casino and poker operators seeking a single-wallet skill gaming solution revealed that its business has risen dramatically since it reported total stakes of £10.5 million for the whole of 2007. It reported that active user numbers for the final quarter of 2008 rose 38 percent on the previous period with over 15,000 players logging onto GameAccount websites in the final week alone. The firm is set to grow even more following recent deals with Gaming VC, owners of CasinoClub.com, a dominant online casino in German-speaking markets, and Eurobet Italia. “We’re beginning to see a change in the way people are playing games online and thankfully it’s in our favour,” said Kevin Dale, Chief Executive Officer for GameAccount. “Partly in an effort to save money, more and more people are turning to the Internet for their entertainment and our person-to-person skill games are exactly what they’re looking for. “Potential partners are now wise to this and are directly approaching us as a provider. By exploiting the favourable conditions and reinvesting in product development and our technology platform, we’re able to continually improve our offering and maintain our market-leading position.” GameAccount stated that it was the first UK online gaming company to be licensed by the Gambling Commission and manages a large network of games websites where players can compete against each other in tournaments and head-to-head for free or for real money.
