However, when all was said and done, Elly Steijn, Paul Wijnveld, and Rik Broekhuize emerged from obscurity to claim their chance at a year’s worth of free play at some of the world’s most prestigious tournaments. Steign qualified for the live event by finishing in the top eight in a TitanPoker.com freeroll tournament while Wijnveld, a businessman involved in corporate fashion, received his opportunity after only a few hours of virtual play. 'It feels great to be a Lord Of Poker and to get the chance to play with all the professional Dutch players and celebrities,' said Steign. 'It's a great opportunity to improve my poker game amongst Holland's best players.” 'One of my friends told me to play in the Lords Of Poker tournament at TitanPoker.com and on the first night I became one of the qualifiers for the main event in Amsterdam,” said Wijnveld.
