Tuesday 10th March 2009 Online Poker Room Launches Academy
FullTiltPoker.com is giving players the chance to learn from some of the sport’s best with the launch of its new online Poker Academy, which is set to feature an expansive and regularly updated catalogue of video features.
The new Poker Academy can be found at Academy.FullTiltPoker.com and will see superstars including Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, Allen Cunningham and Patrik Antonius passing on their knowledge. PokerStars.com revealed that the professional players set to contribute have collectively won 35 World Series Of Poker bracelets, twelve World Poker Tour titles and more than $82 million in tournament winnings.
'I'm excited to share my insights and experiences with the Full Tilt Poker community and to watch all of my fellow professionals’ videos and learn from them as well,' said Lederer.
'With this extraordinary line-up of teachers, the best poker education in the world is at Full Tilt Poker Academy.'
The Poker Academy will feature a lessons section where pros will draw upon personal experiences as well as visual hand examples from televised poker competitions to break down specific topics alongside the strategies attached to them. Users can watch players such as Lederer analyse the objectives behind sit and go bubble play or hear Ferguson share his pre-flop betting strategies.
Accompanying each lesson will be an interactive sit and learn quiz section featuring video hints. Students can compete against other Academy members for a spot on the leaderboard and the right to play in Academy-only freerolls on FullTiltPoker.com.
The Full Tilt Poker Academy is available in 19 languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, German, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Czech, Russian and Hungarian and will also feature a section devoted to the stars speaking about their thought processes as they play real tournaments or cash games on FullTiltPoker.com.
'The Full Tilt philosophy has always been built around the idea of breaking down the barriers between the so-called 'star' pros and the rest of the poker community,' said Gordon.
'Full Tilt Poker Academy continues that tradition and is the ultimate in combining education with entertainment for poker players of all skill levels.'
