ITV to launch interactive gaming channel

UK commercial television network ITV has announced plans to base its new fourth channel on interactive gaming.

The channel will consist of bingo and pay-per-play betting games, and will be named ITV4.

Debbie Mason, founder of bingo based interactive gaming channel Avago, was recently appointed as interactive commissioner of the ITV network.

Before the channel is fully launched in late 2005, plans to schedule interactive gaming in late-night weekend slots will test the popularity of the proposals.
