Thursday 12th March 2009 Slot-O-Matic Online Slot Becomes An Instant Favourite
Online slots pioneer Slotland.com has announced that the new Slot-O-Matic title on its instant-play sister site WinADay.com has proved a huge success because there is still an appetite from players for basic and uncomplicated games.
Slotland.com revealed that Slot-O-Matic became the most popular game from its collection of six online slots right from the week it was launched and was played 30 percent more often than the next most popular game on the site, the Wheeler Dealer video poker title.
Players can enjoy Slot-O-Matic with no downloads and, like all of the games on WinADay.com, it is tied to the site’s progressive jackpot, which currently sits at over $150,000. This prize is separate from that of Slotland.com, which is nearing $200,000.
“In our company we are always discussing ideas for new games,” said Ondrej Tuma from Slotland.com.
“Our lead programmer came up with the idea that we should design a simple slot machine. One that would evoke the 1980s and the first computer games while keeping with WinADay.com’s contemporary style. We didn’t really have any empirical data showing that people wanted to go back to the basics, just a hunch.
“We developed this machine very quickly. From the first idea to launch was only one month. Then, overnight, it became the most played machine at WinADay.com. Almost every player has tried this new slot machine at least once.”
Slotland.com revealed that many slot players prefer to build a bankroll playing single payline games before moving onto their multiple payline cousins. It stated that single payline slots are great for players that want to stretch out their playing for an evening or save money while still having a chance to win.
“The added feature of the fourth reel was a great idea,” said WinADay.com regular ‘TulsaTwisters2’.
“I love getting one more chance to win. Imagine my surprise when what looked like a losing spin turned into a winning spin because of that fourth reel.”
