Thursday 19th March 2009 Tens Mean Cash For BodogLife.com Poker Player
Online poker player ‘Veteran In Love’ won the Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed tournament at online poker room BodogLife.com to take home the top prize of $25,000.
BodogLife.com revealed that Sunday’s event saw 927 players take part with ‘Veteran In Love’ entering the final table in the middle of the pack before slowly building his chip stack.
Tens were the order of the day for the eventual winner as the tournament was whittled down to the remainig three players with ‘Veteran In Love’ calling an all-in bet from ‘RVMonkey’. As the cards were turned over, ‘RVMonkey’ revealed Ac5s while ‘Veteran In Love’ had pocket tens with the river spiking a meaningless ten to send his opponent home in third place for $9,000.
During heads-up play, ’Veteran In Love’ and ‘Vatche’ kept their chip stacks even for some time before another hand involving tens ended up dealing a crippling blow to the runner-up. After he called an all-in check raise on a flop of Js10c8d, ‘Vatche’ found himself looking at two pair of eights and tens from ‘Veteran In Love’ against his top pair of jacks. The turn and river blanked him and essentially doubled-up ‘Veteran In Love’.
On the very next hand, ‘Vatche’ pushed all-in with 9h2h and was quickly called by the 10h5c of ‘Veteran In Love’. The flop came in as Jh10c3d to put ‘Veteran In Love’ in the lead with a pair of tens before the turn revealed another ten to seal the deal and send ‘Vatche’ home in second place for $14,000.
BodogLife.com revealed that it awards more than five million dollars every month in cash prizes and stated that online player 'frankc’ finished in fourth spot for $6,500 followed by ‘billystar' in fifth for $5,700. Rounding out the final table, 'akw84' held down sixth for $4,400 followed by 'FoodSaver’ in seventh for $3,400, ‘Gee Que’ in eighth for $2,400 and ' icunrazawlmydoe ' in ninth for $1,550.
