Thursday 2nd July 2009 Win Your Seat To A WPT Main Event
The legal subscription poker site from the World Poker Tour (WPT) designed for the US market, ClubWPT.com, is giving two players a special opportunity later this month to compete for millions of dollars in cash.
As part of special tournaments running in July, the online poker site will award two players with one seat each to a $10,000 Season Eight WPT main event of their choice.
The tournaments will take place on July 11 and July 25 at nine o’clock in the evening New York time and players will be required to have a 500-point buy-in while satellites will run daily.
In addition to their $10,000 buy-in, the two winners will also receive $1,000 in travel allowances each and can choose to play in a number of main events including the Southern Poker Championship from Biloxi, Mississippi, in January and the Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament from San Jose, California, in March. The winners can also choose from the Legends Of Poker event from Los Angeles in August, the Foxwoods World Poker Finals from Mashantucket, Connecticut, in November, the LA Poker Classic in February or the Hollywood Poker Open from Lawrenceburg, Indiana, in March.
“With the $10,000 World Series main event and the $15,000 World Poker Tour Bellagio Cup going on in Las Vegas, all eyes are on poker in July,” said Steve Lipscomb, Chief Executive Officer for the WPT.
“Honouring the true competitive spirit of this great game, which is the only sport in the world where the ‘average Joe’ can sit down with the professionals and earn life-changing money and celebrity status, ClubWPT.com is going to give two lucky winners the chance to take their shot at millions in a WPT main event.”
ClubWPT.com is based on US sweepstakes law and players must pay a subscription fee of $19.95 in order to compete for over $100,000 in cash and prizes each month. Customers also receive additional benefits such as a magazine subscription, vouchers and other content.
Instead of putting up real money, members at ClubWPT.com receive ‘tournament points’ that they may then use as their buy-in for one of the many competitions regularly on offer.
