Kelly To Attend Poker In The Park

Derek Kelly, the founder of the famous Gutshot Club in London and the man behind Ireland’s new Voodoo Card Club, has been added to the list of speakers that will be attending next month’s Poker In The Park festival. Now in its third year, Poker In The Park will take place from five o’clock in the afternoon until half-past nine in the evening on August 13 from London’s Leicester Square. The action will also carry on over August 14 from noon until half-past nine in the evening. Europe’s largest annual poker festival, Poker In The Park will also feature professional players Neil Channing, Nick Persaud, Ian Frazer, Paul Jackson and Kara Scott signing autographs and answering questions. They will be on-hand to offer their personal insights into the multi-faceted world of poker to the 15,000 enthusiasts expected to attend over the two days. For his part, Kelly will be in Leicester Square to deliver a 30-minute lecture on the growth of modern poker in Britain and Ireland while also signing copies of his latest book, Tales Of A Degenerate Poker Player. Kelly’s unique role in the history of poker in Great Britain and Ireland will be a trip down memory lane for long-time UK players while enlightening new enthusiasts as how the sport got where it is today.
