Wednesday 8th July 2009 FullTiltPoker.com Announces The Return Of FTOPS
FullTiltPoker.com has released the scheduled for the 13th edition of its Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS), the world’s second-largest recurring virtual poker series set to offer 25 events and a total prize pool of $19 million.
Scheduled for August 5 to 16, this year’s FTOPS will feature knockout, shootout and turbo competitions alongside the Two-Day Event with a guaranteed prize pool of two million dollars and the $2.5 million guaranteed Main Event.
This summer’s event will also see the return of the popular Mini FTOPS, which sees competitors having a go on the same events but for one-tenth of the orginal buy-in. The Mini FTOPS begins on September 9 with series highlights sure to include the MiniFTOPS Two-Day Event featuring a $266 buy-in and at least $400,000 guaranteed along with the MiniFTOPS Main Event with a $55 buy-in and $500,000 in prize money.
This year’s event will also feature the FTOPS Satellite Challenge where player’s that win a seat into any event will receive tournament dollars equal to the buy-in for every additional entry that they secure for the same competition. For example, if a player gains five satellites into the $535 FTOPS Main Event, FullTiltPoker.com will credit their account with $2,140 in tournament dollars.
In addition, the player that wins more event entries than anyone else will take home tournament dollars equivalent to two more buy-ins. What’s more, finish in second place in any FTOPS Satellite Challenge and receive tournament dollars equivalent to one more event buy-in.
FTOPS will also feature a special Ante Up For Africa fundraiser as an unnumbered event scheduled for August 15 while every player making the final table of any game will receive a limited-edition jacket. In addition to the jacket, players that triumph in any event will receive a gold FTOPS jersey along with a coveted bullion-coloured jersey avatar for use on FullTiltPoker.com.
Finally, the competitor finishing first on the FTOPS Leaderboard will take home a custom avatar and a special prize package for free entry into every event at the 14th edition of the tournament next year worth approximately $7,500.
