Chan Returning To APT Macau

Two-time World Series Of Poker champion Johnny Chan has confirmed that he will return to next month’s Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau Festival after getting a taste for the event last year. The APT Macau Festival will take place from August 12 to 23 at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel And Casino with a buy-in set at $4,300. It will also feature the largest range of side events ever seen in Asia with high-limit games and sit-and-go tables running throughout the twelve days. Chan revealed that he would be on hand to play in this year’s main event as well as taking part in the filming of Poker King, an upcoming Chinese-language film focussing on poker in Asia. Chan was born in China and is one of the biggest names in poker after winning back-to-back World Series Of Poker championships in 1987 and 1988. He has won ten bracelets in total, which ties him with the legendary Doyle Brunson for second spot all-time, and has earned over eight million dollars from live tournaments. Leading online and land-based gaming company AsianLogic Limited revealed that Chan will be joined at the APT Macau Festival by its own sponsored team of players, The Poker Pack. Composed of top players JC Tran, Nam Le, Quinn Do, David ‘Chino’ Rheem, Steve Sung, and Kwang Soo Lee, The Poker Pack has over $24 million in live tournament winnings and serves as ambassadors for the APT.
