Tuesday 29th September 2009 Newcomer Takes $100,000 Guaranteed Prize
Novice online poker player ‘giertje’ won the Sunday $100,000 Guaranteed tournament at online poker room Bodog.com over the weekend to take home the top prize of $25,000.
Bodog.com revealed that Sunday’s event saw 441 entrants paying a buy-in of $109 in order to take a shot at their share of $100,000.
The online poker room stated that the tournament came down to a heads-up battle between newcomer 'giertje' and 'zubs1aa', who had recently won the main event of the Bodog Poker Open II. However, 'giertje' was able to prevail and walk away with the victory.
Awarding more than five million dollars every month in cash prizes, Bodog.com announced that ‘zubs1aa’ took home $15,000 for second spot followed by ‘TheMasterJ33’ in third for $9,500. Rounding out the final table was 'nutcracker8390’ in fourth for $7,000, ‘sisiko’ in fifth for $5,500, 'Shawry5' in sixth for $4,500, 'amaru34’ in seventh for $3,500, ‘RamitBawdeep’ in eighth for $2,200 and 'Jadenai’ in ninth for $1,700.
