Poker plays host to Ladies Night

Women will again take centre stage as The World Poker Tour hosts its second �Ladies Night�, pitting the cream of female talent together on December 15.

After the huge success of last year�s event, six players have again been invited, vying for a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour Championship and a shot at the tour�s finale, and an anticipated prize pool of $25 million.

Last year�s winner, inexperienced Texan Clonie Gowen, returns again this year hoping to triumph again over more seasoned players, including Wendeen Eolis and Sharon Goldman.

The tournament was a popular draw last year, and will enjoy similar television coverage this time around. The exposure has been a welcome booster for the ladies game, dispelling the myth that poker is an exclusively male pursuit.
