Friday 18th February 2005 Sportsbook.com continues its boxing sponsorship program
Los Angeles, CA – Feb. 17, 2005 – Sportsbook.com is pleased to present the World Middleweight Title (undisputed) fight this weekend as part of HBO World Championship Boxing. Howard Eastman will square off against Bernard Hopkins, defending champion.
“This is the second time we’ve sponsored this event and consider it a great night of boxing and a great program for our boxing fans,” says Alex Czajkowski, Marketing Director, Sportsbook.com. “Sportsbook.com continues to grow its list of top-tier sponsorship programs that now includes boxing, golf, UFC and bull riding, among others.”
In addition to being the title sponsor of the event, Sportsbook.com is offering odds on the match, favouring Bernard Hopkins to win with 5-8 odds. The 40-year-old Hopkins, aka “The Executioner,” hasn’t been defeated in over 20 years and has defended his title 25 times.
“This will undoubtedly be the biggest fight of Eastman’s life,” added Czajkowski. “Since 1993, 21 fighters have tried to defeat Hopkins without success. But Eastman is faster, younger…and he’s prepared. But this is championship boxing and anything can happen.”
The fight takes place Saturday, Feb. 19th at 9:45 p.m. ET.
