Frenchman Jan Boubli Wins the EPT Barcelona Open

Jan Boubli, a former dentist from France has won the first event of this season�s European Poker Tour, winning the largest tournament in its history in the process. He outplayed 325 other players in the $4,000 Euro buy-in event. The event�s prize pool was worth over $1.3 million Euros, Boubli�s first place earned him $416,000 Euros and a seat in the $10,000 Euro buy-in Grand Finale event that will be held in Monte Carlo in March of 2006. Notable pro�s who were left in Jan�s wake included: Marcel Luske, Devilfish Ulliot, Barny Boatman and Gus Hansen, although Hansen did make the final table before busting out in fifth place.
