Betfair Poker Room Reports Sustained Growth

Betfair has claimed today that its recently launched poker room is �the fastest growing in the industry�. The betting exchange said that since its launch in May it has signed in excess of 15,000 users, with 7,000 active users on a monthly basis and estimates that these figures already represent more than half of William Hill�s poker room and about 30 per cent of Ladbrokes� poker room.

�Since our launch�existing Betfair community has helped greatly in setting up the dynamics of our poker room. Existing customers are continuing to sign up and opening the room to a broader audience will further enhance liquidity,� said Ben Fried, Betfair�s poker manager. �Betfair Poker is a one-stop shop for all our customers� gaming requirements and this unique service will attract new customers to both poker and the betting exchange going forward.�

Betfair Poker is opening its doors to new players on Sunday 10th October when it holds its first tournament, first prize �100,000.
