UK Betting Newspaper to Launch in March

The first national newspaper to land in the UK for over 20 years will launch this March. The paper, to be called �The Sportsman�, will be full colour and incorporate a wide range of betting markets including football, golf and poker.

Having recently signed Mark Maydon � Head of Development at rival British newspaper �The Sun� � as its digital director, The Sportsman is primed for launch.

Managing Director of The Sportsman, Max Aitken, was understandably pleased with their appointment of Maydon to the new newspaper. �Mark brings a wealth of commercial, management and editorial experience in both digital and newsprint media. The Sportsman will be the first ever Newspaper to simultaneously plan a launch in both traditional print and online format. We're looking at broadcast sponsorship opportunities as well,� he said.
