US Firm: Online Casino Revenue to Double by 2010

A U.S. consulting firm has reported that online poker will soon be the biggest generator of revenue for online casinos as a result of the game�s ever-increasing popularity and television coverage growth.

Christiansen Capital Advisors predict that by 2010 the revenues from online casinos will have reached $24.5 billion � double the current figures for the industry � with the increase expected to come largely from poker services.

Online poker has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past 12 months and the gaming industry will be delighted to hear that the trend is expected to continue. Poker is currently America�s most popular televised game after football and car-racing, with big companies such as Playtech investing 40% of its resources into the development of future poker products.
