New ESPN Poker Drama from the Writers of Rounders

ESPN has commissioned �Tilt� a new poker drama, which will chronicle the lives of six fictional poker players in the run up to the World Series, and is expected to start shooting mid-November. Executive producers on the show are Brian Koppelman and David Levien, co-writers of the 1998 hit film, Rounders, starring Matt Damon.

'We thought a drama was a logical next step for the genre,' said Mark Shapiro, executive vice president for programming and production. 'When you have lightning in a bottle, you convert it into a six-pack.'

ESPN says that Tilt will be far more complimentary to poker players than its controversial drama �Playmaker� was to football players. Playmaker was pulled in February after receiving for portraying professional athletes in a bad light.

'Tilt' will be scheduled Thursdays at 9 pm. Koppelman and Levien will write and direct the pilot and pen some other episodes.
