PartyPoker Football and Legends Cup Starts This Week

In yet more news tying poker with soccer, the UK�s Channel 5 is set to air the PartyPoker-backed Football and Legends Cup which takes place in London this week. 16 teams, each representing their own country, will play for a $395,000 prize pool. Teams will consist of two top poker players and a top footballer from each country.

Sadly, even though the show is due to go out in wee hours, nothing is being given away about which European footballers are trading their boots for the baize, but it�s definite that Team USA will include Mike Sexton, Kenna �Cowboy� Jones and the brilliantly monikered former Premiership player, Carlos Bocanegra.

The heats are due to take place on April 3-4, with the grand final due on April 6, after a day�s rest and recuperation. It�s expected that European teams putting in a big performance will include Germany and Holland, although Scotland and Northern Ireland certainly don�t look worth having a punt on.
