Poker Players Alliance Goes All-In for Arrested Players

The Poker Players Alliance has kicked up a fuss about the arrest of 22 poker players during a home game in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. The body which represents the interests of poker players across America, has issued a call for attorneys to come and help the players fight their case after they were subject to an armed raid. Police stormed the home with guns drawn and ski masks on, seizing $6,000 in cash, despite protests that the game was only a $20 buy-in and that only $250 was actually on the table.

Officers are said to have gone through each room in an invasive search, taking money from dressers and drawers before arresting the 22 men on charges of playing high stakes. Police say that the game was advertised over the internet and attracted people from across the state. Mount Pleasant’s mayor has even weighed in, congratulating law enforcement agencies on their work. The PPA say that this is a gross infringement of the players rights and aim to use this as a test case to establish concrete laws on home games.
