Trojan Horse Virus Alive and Well

After Betfair discovered that a rogue user had managed to direct players on their poker site to a Trojan Horse virus, online gamers were asked to be on the lookout for more problems. Now it seems that poker tips site checkraised.com has also been a victim. The hacker in question managed to use the site to get hold of personal details from PartyPoker, EmpirePoker, Eurobetpoker and Pokernow. It appears he then played and deliberately lost, pocketing the winnings anyway. The exe file which caused the problem was removed by checkraised.com, who then told users to change all their passwords and be aware that a virus was doing the rounds. Free scans have also been made available, seeing as Trojan Horse viruses can easily exploit standard computer security. It seems that playing online is becoming an increasingly risky business.
