PokerStars.com Announces World Blogger Championship

Calling all bloggers. Fancy taking part in a free poker tournament to win fantastic prizes? If so then PokerStars.com could be the place for you as they host the second annual World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP). The tournament will be held at PokerStars.com on June 18, 2006. Starting time is 4 pm EST (1 pm PST).

The competition will be a no-limit Texas hold 'em tournament.

All bloggers are invited to register online and compete in the tournament. No poker experience is required and the prize list includes nine seats at the 2006 World Series of Poker.

The first-place winner will receive a $10,000 entry into the championship event, plus fully-paid hotel accommodation and $1,000 in spending money. Places 2nd through 9th will receive entries into a $1,500 buy-in event of their choice at this year's WSOP.

Additional prizes valued at over $13,000 will also be awarded to finishers 10th through 54th.

Last year's inaugural WBCOOP attracted nearly 1,500 entries with the winner being a 29-year-old consultant from a major IT services company.
